DIGITAL EDUCATION

"The educational system should evolve from fixed degrees to lifelong learning in nano chunks or we are risking becoming irrelevant and replaceable by automation in the near future."
Svetozar Georgiev is Co-Founder of Telerik Academy – a leading education organization that trains and grooms the digital builders of tomorrow. In this role, Svetozar is responsible for driving Telerik Academy’s strategy across all streams and establishing it as a partner to all companies. Today, he is also an active mentor to young entrepreneurs and an angel investor in promising Bulgarian startups.
Before taking over leadership of Telerik Academy, Svetozar co-founded in 2002 and served as Co-CEO of the global software company – Telerik, acquired by Progress in 2014. Telerik Academy itself was established as an educational institution in 2009.

How should the education system be reformed to meet the requirements of the digital world:
– Digital aptitude and digital citizenship as fundamental disciplines that need to be part of the EU educational system
– Evolving degrees, format and methodologies for preparation of relevant and competitive work force – digital education at the speed of the digital world
– Engaging businesses as active stakeholders in the educational process
– Ways in which EU can gain competitive advantage in education compared to the USA and Asia
